Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager to lead our Azure Sales team. In this role, you will oversee a team of sales professionals dedicated to promoting NetApp solutions in collaboration with Microsoft Azure. Your extensive experience with Microsoft—or another hyperscaler—and proven leadership skills will be critical in driving revenue growth and expanding our market presence. You will be responsible for developing strategic sales initiatives, fostering key partnerships, and achieving significant annual revenue goals.
You will own our Azure business for both Global & Enterprise for the US OU’s. You will manage direct reports that represent a substantial portion of our overall Azure business. The Azure Sales team is a specialist team that aligned with both the NetApp field sales team as well as the Microsoft Azure sales team. As the leader of the Azure Sales team, you will be responsible for recruiting top talent and managing your team to drive Azure ARR and pipeline generation. You will also be responsible for forecasting, pipeline management, sales enablement and developing and delivering GTM strategies. Your team aligns to both the NetApp field and the Azure Sales team at Microsoft, so it is critical that you establish executive relationships with both those cohorts.
What You'll Do
- Lead and Develop a High-Performing Sales Team
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of eight sales representatives across various regions.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed double-digit million-dollar annual revenue targets.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Create and execute a comprehensive sales plan that aligns with NetApp's business objectives and market opportunities.
- Identify key growth areas and market segments to expand NetApp's footprint in the Azure marketplace.
- Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Microsoft Azure teams, leveraging your extensive experience to enhance collaboration.
- Cultivate partnerships with global systems integrators and strategic partners to drive joint business opportunities.
- Revenue Growth and Performance Management:
- Set clear performance expectations and revenue goals for the sales team.
- Monitor team performance, providing regular feedback and implementing improvement plans when necessary.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product management, and customer support to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
- Provide market feedback to inform product development and enhance NetApp's offerings.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
- Prepare regular reports on sales activities, forecasts, and market insights for senior management.
- Leadership and Management:
- Minimum of 5+ years of recent experience in first-line sales management.
- Proven track record of leading and developing successful sales teams in the technology sector.
- Industry Expertise:
- At least 10+ years of experience in technology sales, focusing on cloud computing and data storage solutions.
- Must have worked at or with Microsoft for a minimum of five years; experience with other hyperscalers is advantageous.
- Ideally coming from a related technology sector supporting Microsoft.
Job Requirements

- Demonstrated success selling into hyperscaler marketplaces.
- Proven experience in managing and growing annual revenue goals in the double-digit million-dollar range.

- Deep understanding of cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure and Azure NetApp Files.
- Proven ability to navigate complex sales cycles and close high-value deals.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in presenting to senior leadership and external partners.
- Analytical Thinking:
- Ability to analyze market trends and sales data to make informed decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on achieving results.
Education
- Minimum of 8+ years overall experience, including 2+ years of relevant people management experience with direct reports required
Compensation
The On Target Earnings (OTE) for this position is $325,000 - $400,000 and will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
