Job Summary

As Manager, APAC Events Marketing, your primary responsibility is to develop strategies and lead a team of event marketing managers to execute a wide variety of virtual and in-person regional acquire and high touch customer events that deliver against business objectives, financial targets, ROI, advance the NetApp’s brand, products, and services. Your events will create brand awareness, generate leads and pipeline as well as position NetApp as a thought-leader through both industry and NetApp led activities. Including roundtables, tradeshows, summits, product launches, receptions, dinners, parties, sporting events, music concerts, award shows and experiential activations, you will create an experience from start-to-finish. You will own and drive the discovery, design, development, delivery and post event reporting and budget reconciliation. You will actively manage end-to-end project, budget and timeline (including event logistics, financial management, fabrication / graphic / production timelines, vendor timelines, creative deliverables).

You will work closely with our cross functional teams to plan and execute events at the highest level and will continuously raise the bar on content and the customer experience with the goal of educating new and existing customers. You will form a strong relationship with our internal marketing and sales stakeholders to contribute to the program strategy and planning. APAC Event Marketing demands creativity and energy combined with attention to detail and an ability to multitask while working in a fast-moving environment.  

Job Requirements

  •  Work cohesively with event marketing team and cross-functional key stakeholders to strategize, plan and execute regional acquire and high touch customer events.
  •  Develop clear vision, goals and measurable objectives for the APAC event marketing team.
  •  Drive accountability across high-performing team of direct reports and agencies.
  •  Drive event production from discovery and objective setting to creative inception and development, pre-show production management, onsite delivery and through post show production and wrap up.
  •  Concept development, budget formation, team coordination, timeline management, presentation writing and delivery of presentations.
  •  Maintain accuracy and accountability of event budget.
  •  Provide functionality improvements to day-to-day processes, bring new ideas and concepts to event programs.
  •  Align event activities with business priorities across stakeholder groups, including interfacing directly with sales leadership and sales teams.
  •  Drive communications and planning with global/regional sales teams, especially around account targeting for events.
  •  Manage APAC event relationships at appropriate level and act as a key point of contact.
  •  Contribute to APAC event strategy and planning including regular calls and communication.
  •  Source special experience locations, venues and vendors across various cities and regions across the globe.
  •  Create and maintain project plan for each phase with resource plan, defined milestones and associated tasks, and timeline.
  •  Manage vendor activity and relationships (ensuring effective communications, selection, quotes/orders, PO/invoice processing, general management, onsite load-in/show planning, etc and lead areas onsite.
  •  Qualify all production vendors to ensure they meet NetApp standards while exceeding company expectations.
  •  Manage all logistics and experience elements; including but not limited to registration, content, speaker selection, agenda, flows, giveaways, collateral, travel, catering requirements, experience set-ups, revenue tracking and materials support (pre and post event).
  •  Negotiate vendor contracts and manage to budget.
  •  Collect and document contract and invoices related to the event, working closely with Legal and Finance teams to ensure on-time execution of related deliverables.
  •  Work closely with Marketing in order to incorporate brand messaging into event experience.
  •  Manage event agency relationships and build processes for repeatable and scalable event activities.
  •  Creatively looks for ways to increase event presence and engagement.
  •  Ensure all production exceeds objectives at every step in the process while setting a high benchmark for production excellence.
  •  Communicate event details with internal stakeholders.
  •  Regularly update the marketing leadership team on the status of trends, metrics, challenges/solutions, forecast, and strategy to drive brand awareness and pipeline growth.
  •  Utilize metrics to track and quantify results including attendee data, lead generation, contribution to pipeline, and accelerating the sales cycle.
  •  Create post-event and evaluations and ROI analysis that will gauge the success of the program and inform future decision making and share results and recommendations with sales and marketing teams.
  •  Ensure compliance and risk guidelines are followed.

Education

•    Minimum 10 years of event marketing or field marketing experience (preferably in a technology environment); delivering on live and virtual event programs that align to the customer journey and sales goals with commitment to deliver against pipeline targets 
•    Highly proactive, innovative, collaborative, organized, detailed-oriented, and analytical self-starter leader who is capable of effectively managing several projects simultaneously from a variety of stakeholders and vendors and stay calm under pressure 
•    Excellence in time management skills and follow up to ensure meeting on time deliverables 
•    Experience managing direct reports and developing others 
•    Eloquent, passionate, confident, insightful, enthusiastic, driven, creative and entrepreneurial about delivering out of the box groundbreaking experiences. 
•    Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to adapt to a variety of internal & external stakeholders and think strategically to influence them. 
•    Ability to create presentations and deliver them in a compelling way to executive level stakeholders
•    Strong ability to adapt to changing, ambiguous and high-pressure environments and prioritizing tasks
•    Highly resourceful with a strong of sense of ownership in areas of responsibility 
•    Ability to see beyond a given task and advise on cause and effect of decisions and options depending on any situation.
•    Will go the extra mile and take pride in the work and stakeholder relationships
•    Be results-driven leader producing a wide range of outstanding experiences across all enormities of scope.
•    Advance and support fellow team members and suppliers to deliver their very best, ensuring flawless end results.
•    Ability to understand what a job requires and pull together the sometimes-challenging requests by various stakeholders to create a best-in-class solution for them. 
•    Proactive approach to handling any challenges that might arise and ability to quickly troubleshoot any problems that should arise on the event day
