Network Security Engineer
Bengaluru, IndiaJob Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to serve as the technical owner and administrator for one or more enterprise security technology domains, including endpoint security (EDR/XDR), vulnerability scanning for cloud and on-premises environments, SIEM and SOAR platforms, network security technologies, and AI security solutions.
This role is responsible for the day-to-day ownership, administration, maintenance, optimization, and lifecycle management of assigned security platforms. Depending on organizational needs and individual expertise, the engineer may own one or more technology areas rather than the entire security tooling portfolio.
Responsibilities include platform configuration, system administration, health monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, capacity planning, integration management, agent or sensor deployment support, vendor-supported lifecycle activities, and overall platform reliability.
The successful candidate will act as the primary technical owner for assigned security technologies, ensuring they remain operational, properly configured, supported, integrated, documented, and aligned with enterprise requirements. This role focuses exclusively on engineering, sustainment, and operational excellence of security tools and services.
Working closely with platform consumers, infrastructure teams, architects, and security stakeholders, the engineer will drive continuous improvements in platform stability, scalability, maintainability, and effectiveness while ensuring security technologies remain current and capable of supporting evolving business and security requirements.
Candidate expectation: Candidates are not expected to possess subject matter expertise across every security domain listed. Successful applicants will demonstrate deep tool ownership experience in one or more areas such as endpoint security, vulnerability scanning, security analytics and automation, network security, or AI security platforms.

• Hands-on experience with platform configuration, troubleshooting, upgrades, patching, integrations, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of enterprise endpoint, network, cloud, identity, logging, or vulnerability scanning environments.
• Experience working with global stakeholders, change management processes, vendor support teams, and production technology environments.
• Ability to independently drive technical issues to resolution and communicate clearly with engineering, operations, and leadership stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
• Deep ownership experience in one or more security platform domains: EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanning, SIEM, SOAR, network security, cloud security, or AI security tooling.
• Experience supporting cloud and on-premises scanning infrastructure, including scanner placement, credentialed scans, scan coverage, and scanner health.
• Experience maintaining large-scale endpoint security deployments, including agent health, platform policy, version management, and telemetry validation.
• Experience supporting logging, analytics, or automation platforms, including ingestion health, connectors, parsers, playbook platform reliability, and integrations.
• Experience with APIs, scripting, automation, configuration management, or infrastructure-as-code concepts used to improve platform reliability.

However, the processing of your personal information is carried out with the aid of manual and automated tools. In particular, NetApp may use an automated employment evaluation tool or similar tool as one of several tools, actions, and/or steps to assist with NetApp’s review of candidate applications for various hiring needs.
Currently, when addressing certain hiring needs, NetApp uses the following tools:
- Eightfold (eightfold.ai): This tool can provide an initial ranking of a candidate’s skills and experience, based on information provided by the applicant in the application and/or supporting documentation, in comparison to the NetApp designated key requirements of a specific role. Additionally, the tool may be used to help review and/or rank internal employees seeking promotion or other internal mobility. An independent audit of the Eightfold Matching Model tool can be found at https://eightfold.ai/nyc-eightfoldmatching-model.
- Findem (findem.ai): This tool is used to help identify candidates whose skills and experience may be relevant to open roles at NetApp, using publicly available professional information. Findem may also be used to assist with candidate matching, AI-assisted screening, and recruitment communications.
Our talent acquisition team or our recruiters will ultimately select the candidates for further consideration, following human review of any automated evaluation results and associated underlying documentation (or lack thereof) submitted with the candidates’ application.
Candidates may request an alternative selection process which will not be subject to the Eightfold matching tool or to any electronic automated employment evaluation by contacting NetApp at careers@netapp.com. To bypass the Eightfold matching tool or any electronic automated employment evaluation, you must include a resume and job ID with your email to careers@netapp.com and you must include in the subject line of your email: Data Privacy Request. Candidates who have questions or want to request additional information on the source of data, type of data, and/or collection of data related to the candidate review process should contact NetApp at careers@netapp.com
Note: Eightfold is not applicable to temporary hiring opportunities. If you are interested in temporary roles, you can apply via a third-party site managed by our preferred supplier, Magnit Global.
