Job Responsibilities
As a Manager, Solutions Engineering Manager in NetApp’s Sales function, you will utilize strong management and technical competencies to set objectives and develop strategies for subordinate level Systems Engineers. This challenging and high-visibility position provides leadership and management oversight to the department. You develop long-term strategies and shorter-term plans to meet aggressive performance goals. You must be extremely results driven, customer focused, technologically savvy, and skilled at building internal relationships and external partnerships.
Essential Functions
- Provide management oversight to Systems Engineers within the region to drive all pertinent issues related to strategy and goal attainment.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions with the sales management team on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Communicate Corporate strategy to employees within your function.
- Plan and direct activities including planning and implementing forecasts, marketing program development, relationship development, customer satisfaction, and collateral material development and distribution.
- Establish short-term and long-term goals and performance metrics in line with corporate objectives.
- Identify and qualify important Enterprise sales opportunities at the management level.
- Review management plans with SE Director, Commercial Segment Director and District Managers on a regular basis.
- Act as coach, mentor and educator to SEs and Sales Reps within the Region.
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure departmental goals are met.
- Assume responsibility for result, including costs, methods and staffing.
Job Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills.
- Proven experience leading a technical pre-sales team in India.
- Excellent relationship building and negotiating skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with functional peers across functions including Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Customer Support, and Product Development.
- Strong understanding of Data management and Cloud technologies and competitive offerings in the marketplace.
- Proven capability to work as a key member of the leadership and contribute to strong business growth.
- Ability to convey and analyze information clearly as needed to help customer make buying decisions.
- An excellent understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems.
- The ability to hold key CXO relationships within major commercial accounts.
- Experience evangelizing technology, including Social Media platforms, events as well as experience with media and analysts in India.
Education
• At least 5 years of experience as a people manager is required, with atleast 10-12 years of technical consulting / presales experience.
• A Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Computer Science; or related field is preferred; a Graduate Degree is mandatory.
