Job Summary
About ECIS Team:
Simplify a day in the life of an engineer through automation and tooling with EO compliance. Designing, implementing and maintaining the Engineering infra that supports All Engineering BU’s (ONTAP, OFFTAP, Cloud and Build Ops etc..) product development.
As a Member of Technical Staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance engineering infrastructure and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, operations, and infrastructure teams, to design, build, and maintain highly available and efficient systems. Your primary focus will be on automating regular day-to-day work, developing tools, processes, monitoring system health, and resolving incidents to minimize downtime and improve overall system reliability
Job Requirements
- Proficiency in in Unix, Storage and/or Virtualization Technology
- Strong knowledge of python and one or more programming languages, (Javascript, BASH, PHP etc.) and development tools (git, svn, Jira, etc.)
- Experience in software design and development is must.
- Basic familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP is plus
- Believes in automating day-to-day regular tasks, testing, and can develop modular, layered software that performs well and is easy to understand.
- Some front-end experience preferred. Knowledge of web services, server-side development, databases, and related technologies is a must.
- Must have self-motivation and display a positive attitude!
- The ability to draw up a plan, communicates it to the team, integrate feedback and execute to it.
- The ability and desire to pay attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and have strong influencing and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines.
Technical Requirements
- Solid working knowledge (i.e. proficiency) of infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (E.g. shell, Python, Ruby, Powershell).
- Configuration management using Ansible, CloudFormation, Chef & Puppet.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying applications.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of Systems Architects in support of deadlines -- yet the ability to work independently, as well.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies related to DevOps and SRE practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for production systems.
Education
- Master’s or bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in software development
