Privacy and data protection is at the heart of NetApp’s business. The global regulation of data privacy is rapidly evolving, and NetApp continues to invest in a comprehensive Data Protection Compliance Program to manage increasing data privacy risks. This role offers the opportunity to help NetApp to deliver and maintain the technical components of our compliance program to support our business and our customers.
Our growing Privacy team supports NetApp on a cross-functional basis, first and foremost to ensure privacy compliance, but also serving as a valued partner helping to enable business goals whilst appropriately managing and mitigating data protection related legal and reputational risk. The Privacy team deals with a wide range of issues including working closely with our internal and external business partners, completing privacy impact assessments, and ensuring appropriate privacy controls are incorporated into our existing and new products and services, providing subject matter expertise in relation to customers and vendors/suppliers, liaising with data protection authorities, and dealing with new and rapidly changing legal and regulatory requirements on a global basis.
As a Privacy Operations – Business Systems Specialist, you will help to enable the Privacy Program at NetApp. Your role will require supporting the implementation and deployment of our internal privacy information system platform, assisting with improving technical privacy processes and supporting on a wide range of privacy and data protection matters. Your role will include liaising with cross-functional business teams, Legal, and product teams, as well as focusing on analysis, design, and process documentation optimisation.
We are looking for a Privacy Operations – Business Systems Specialist to support our privacy compliance efforts. This role reports to our Managing Counsel - Privacy. The role is global, addressing privacy and data protection issues in regions in which we operate (EMEA and also US, Canada, APAC and LATAM). Our International Headquarters are located in Cork, Ireland.
Job Requirements
• Supporting the implementation and deployment of our privacy information system platform, including mapping and maintaining current and future processes, data flows/data inventory.
• Partner with key internal stakeholders to execute NetApp’s privacy strategy across our organisation in support of our business goals.
• Assist with implementation of additional privacy technical tools to improve privacy maturity and build scalable processes.
• Drive end-to-end process design and analysis while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Make recommendations for privacy process improvements, such as optimising efficiencies and increasing compliance efforts.
• Help identify, measure, and report on key performance metrics that demonstrate the health and effectiveness of NetApp’s Privacy program.
• Develop, conduct and review privacy risk assessments and Privacy Impact Assessments.
• Provide guidance on the implementation, and maintenance of organisational privacy compliance processes and procedures in coordination with our internal business units.
• Collaborate in the design and ongoing update of our privacy policies, standards and procedures.
• Help with training and education on privacy regulations to NetApp employees and promote a privacy-focused culture throughout NetApp.
Education
• 8 or more years relevant experience in a similar role leading implementation, integration, and deployment of information systems, including experience within privacy programs.
• Experience supporting the implementation and deployment of privacy information system platforms, such as OneTrust or Transcend.
• Relevant experience in data privacy programs, or another related field.
• Strong analysis and data process mapping skills.
• Previous experience collaborating with technical and business teams.
• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with privacy compliance, such as the GDPR or other relevant US or global privacy laws.
Preferred Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree and a dedication to ongoing learning.
• Certifications: CIPP/US/E/CIPM or CIPT or other privacy or risk and compliance-related certifications is a plus, but not required.
Other Skills & Experience
• Strong organisational, analytical and critical thinking skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• A team player with strong communication skills who is able to collaborate with Legal colleagues, business partners and expert teams across organisational lines.
• Desire and ability to quickly learn about the activities and specificities of our business.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm, and the willingness to roll up your sleeves and take responsibility for resolving issues.
• Fluent English.
• Cork, Ireland is the preferred location.
