We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to join our NetApp Engineering team. As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will develop, execute, and maintain software and automation to test NetApp software and hardware products We are looking for engineers with cutting-edge development skills.


You are expected to quickly develop industry-leading technical abilities that enable you to significantly improve product quality. You should have knowledge of the entire software development lifecycle process. In this position you will develop automation code will expose defects in production level code as well as defects at the component and feature integration prospective. 
You must be a self-starter, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative Agile scrum environment. We are seeking engineers who can work efficiently and effectively in a fun, fast-paced dynamic team environment. We need people who can communicate clearly and effectively. Candidates will define/implement test suites, test cases as well as design tools for unit, functional, and performance testing in a programmatic manner. In addition, you will have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools to improve the team’s speed, quality, and efficiency. Candidate will be required to have knowledge/experience with technologies such as Linux Operating System functionality/development, robust understanding of performance analysis, the ability to manage and optimize parallel filesystem (PFS). Artificial Intelligence/Deep Learning/Machine Learning/High Performance Computing, SaaS, Cloud storage infrastructure (or technologies), Video Surveillance, Big Data Analytics, Splunk are highly desired. 

Technical Requirements

o    Demonstrated proficiency in Python, Ansible and Bash languages. C++ experience desired but not required.  
o    Experience with automation tools like Ansible and Jenkins is highly valued.
o    Experience in data storage systems 
o    Experience in Linux Operating System and HPC (High Performance Computing) tools such as pacemaker, SLURM, Base Command Manager, etc.
o    Practical experience with Object Oriented programming practices. Well-grounded in the basic concepts of computer architecture, data structures and standard programming practices.
o    Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
o    Proven aptitude for learning new technologies.
o    Creative and analytical approach to problem solving ability is essential.
o    Experience with high performance computing is desired but not required

Responsibilities

o    Perform test software development, design, testing, and problem solving as a member of an Agile scrum team. 
o    Work with other engineers to develop test plans and assist in the integration of these tests into our Continuous Integration Test environment.
o    Develop and test AI/HPC solution. 
o    Troubleshooting and problem solving such as performance analysis, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing solutions performance.
o    Training and provide customer support: building training materials and providing customer support for both internal and external teams. 
o    Support solution engineers sizing solutions for customers.
