Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Renewal Sales Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will manage the renewal process for existing customers, ensuring retention, satisfaction, and upsell opportunities. You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through their contract renewal journey while identifying ways to provide additional value.
As a Renewal Sales Specialist, your responsibilities include:
Renewal Management
- Ownership of high-value contract renewals, ensuring timely execution and high standard of customer satisfaction.
- Leading discussions on complex renewal quotes covering large volumes of installed assets across multiple customer locations.
- Laser focus on growing in quarter renewal rates (IQRR), on time renewal rates (OTRR), and optimal revenue retention across account portfolio.
Customer & Partner Engagement
- Collaborate with customers and partners to address questions, negotiate terms, and communicate the value of continued service support.
- Develop strategies to maximise customer retention, leveraging customer insights and feedback to create tailored solutions.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with customers and partners to enhance loyalty and advocacy.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with sales, pre-sales, customer success, and account management teams to deliver a seamless renewal experience for customers.
- Lead regular planning calls with account stakeholders across NetApp to understand customer intention in advance of upcoming renewals.
- Work closely with renewals leadership to refine and implement best practices for renewal sales processes.
Reporting
- Analyse and report on renewal metrics, renewal pipeline trends, and overall revenue growth.
- Understand renewal trends across large accounts, develop strategies to proactively address any concerns in advance of any renewal sales motion.
Problem Solving
- Minimise customer and partner escalations by proactively managing account portfolio. Anticipate customer needs by using a wide range of customer intelligence gathered via your NetApp and partner network.
Learning & Mentoring
- Act as a mentor and resource for other renewal specialists in the team.
- Share best practice to support team success.
- Self-motivated to manage your own learning journey, staying ahead of technology trends and be at the forefront of understanding the involvement of renewals in the launch of new NetApp products and services.
Job Requirements
- Fluent in German & English (C1-C2 level) with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior-level stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in a business or technology related subject, or relevant industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in sales, account management, or customer success, with a focus on renewals and retention.
- Demonstrated aptitude to learn new skills and technologies.
- Experience working with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce), and/or renewal management platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership qualities and experience mentoring and guiding colleagues.
- Results-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to achieving goals.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Growth mindset with the ability to see any circumstance as an opportunity to learn.
