Job Summary

The Data Services team at NetApp helps customers protect and govern their data wherever it lives. We are responsible for driving preference for our storage platforms through a consolidated set of data protection and governance offerings. 

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to contribute to the growth and evolution of data services products and capabilities primarily focused on Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO). The candidate is expected to work closely with field, engineering, product marketing, and customers to equip and enable them to tap the potential of CVO.

The success of this role depends on aligning customer, field, and company priorities to ensure that our data protection services bring more value to storage infrastructure while building and growing more subscription services. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Pre and Post Sales Enablement
    • Assist field technical sellers, customer success, and professional services with advanced product design to overcome functional, performance, or security related blockers impacting deal acceptance or customer satisfaction.
    • Perform hands-on testing, documentation, and certification of bespoke configurations for product functional customizations.
    • Co-author specialized use-case documentation and best practices in partnership with product marketing teams.
    • Contribute to developing and maintaining field-facing tools such as TCO estimators, performance sizers, etc.
    • Provide technical input to internally developed training material for NetApp employees and customers.
  • Outbound Product Advocacy
    • Support various trade shows and technical conferences both remotely and in-person by helping develop and deliver booth content, presentations, and other customer-facing media.
    • Generate product excitement and solicit feedback by delivering customer roadmaps and executive briefings.
    • Integrate advanced product and use-case knowledge in specialized v-teams associated to specific go-to-market efforts.
    • Generate outbound customer-facing content in the form of blogs, vlogs, and social media.

  • Internal Customer Advocacy
    • Serve as a technical liaison into the product team for design and functional related escalations, providing technical oversight and guidance to the teams directly managing customer and partner-critical situations.
    • Directly contribute to strategic relationship management for our strategic customers.
    • Provide technical oversight to early access and directed access feature adoption, when applicable.
  • Enhance and extend product management and engineering.
    • Oversee enhancement request processes, ensuring technical, business, and financial context is well understood and influences product design and prioritization decisions.
    • Develop, champion, and/or test innovative new designs from proof of concept through partnering with engineering and product management during development.
    • Serve as technical subject matter expert for go-to-market planning with hyperscalers alliances teams.
    • Contribute to technical market and competitive analysis.
    • Lead technical analysis on install base data to equip engineering and product management to make rapid, confident decisions around use-case, design, and product reliability.

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years of designing, supporting, and/or operating enterprise infrastructure and operations
  • 5+ years of hands-on comprehensive experience with NetApp ONTAP 9
  • 2+ years of at least one “big 3” hyperscaler experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven work experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role
  • Strong demonstrated experience with complex problem solving.
  • Strong experience designing for environments with stringent security requirements, including general, contractual, legal, geopolitical, and industry-specific security frameworks.
  • Strong full-stack awareness from data storage up through applications and business processes, including:Operating SystemsNetworkingVirtualizationSecurity / GovernanceFinance / Cost Management
  • Data-driven mindset, leveraging various data and analytics sources to make informed decisions.
  • Customer obsession – demonstrated building a strong understanding of customer problems and building capabilities that help resolve their pain points. 
  • Ownership mentality – demonstrated end to end ownership, accountability, and a desire to lead from the front when required to achieve the desired outcome. 
  • Collaboration & Communication – demonstrated experience in building strong connections with customers, stakeholders, internal partner teams, and external partners. 
  • Experience operating within globally dispersed teams a plus.
  • Experience with enterprise automation frameworks and/or programming languages a plus.

Education

An academic degree in Computer Science; or equivalent work experience

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is [$170,600]–[$208,500] and will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
