Job Summary
NetApp is searching for a Senior Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) focusing on ONTAP security to join us in our mission to further strengthen our position as the most secure Intelligent Data Infrastructure company. The candidate will own the creation and dissemination of technical go-to-market collateral aimed at new and existing NetApp customers, NetApp internal technical teams, and NetApp sales partners. The role requires partnering with product management and engineering, to assist with the definition of security focused ONTAP features. This will require maintaining a technical understanding of security technologies (Identity and Access Management (IAM), privacy controls, encryption, auditing/logging, certifications & compliance/GRC, etc.), security standards, and how they are applied to protect data in a hybrid cloud environment. The candidate should be familiar with secure-by-design principles and standards like the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Additionally, the candidate will work closely with third-party vendors and products (e.g. SAML IdP, key management, endpoint protection, SIEM’s, PAM, etc.) as required to achieve NetApp’s goals regarding ONTAP integration, and best practices. As a domain expert in security, the candidate will frequently meet with customers and go to market partners to represent NetApp’s security capabilities as well as working closely with teams across NetApp to define and communicate security laden marketing messages, positioning, and key customer value differentiators. In addition, the candidate will engage in customer briefings, including executive briefings, and trade shows including NetApp Insight.
Job Requirements

• Skill in fostering a collaborative environment and tackling complex issues through comprehensive analysis.

• Independent problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex technical challenges without management intervention.
Candidate experience:
• At least 12 years of experience in Technical Marketing with a proven history of bringing technical products/services to market.
• Rich experience in generating customer-facing content like white papers, technical reports, presentations, blogs, webcasts, videos, and technical materials.
• Strategic and technical knowledge in key areas, including familiarity with secure by design concepts, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, cloud security, and Zero Trust architectures as well as certifications and compliance such as FIPS, CC, STIG, and DoDIN APL.
• In-depth skills in storage security involving on-prem and cloud-based solutions preferred. Hands-on skills involving ONTAP are a plus.
• Extensive experience with network / cyber security, authentication and authorization, encryption, and anti-ransomware.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams toward common goals.
• Broad knowledge across various functional areas such as product management, engineering, customer support, and marketing.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic, and changing environments with a results-oriented growth mindset.
Education
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar credentials demonstrating knowledge of security are highly preferred.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 186,750 - 262,460 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
