Job Summary:

NetApp is seeking an experienced and strategic Business Operations Specialist to support our Sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. The successful candidate will have advanced skills in business operations and be responsible for developing and operationalizing priorities aligned with NetApp's business objectives, ensuring compliance with ESG-related regulations, and coordinating stakeholder work streams to drive efficient reporting and disclosure processes. As a Business Operations Specialist, you will report to the Chief Sustainability Officer and play a crucial role in enhancing NetApp's ESG performance, mitigating risks, and maximizing opportunities for growth and customer loyalty.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and operationalize priorities aligned with NetApp's business objectives, working closely with the Chief Sustainability Officer and cross-functional teams, including driving Monthly Business Reviews, Strategy Reviews and the Annual Operating Plan
  • Run the program management office to synchronize stakeholder planning for compliance with international, federal, and local ESG-related regulations
  • Manage multiple stakeholder work streams to drive efficient reporting and disclosure processes, including sustainability reports and ESG performance metrics
  • Facilitate engagements with investors, customers, and regulatory bodies on ESG matters, ensuring effective communication and relationship management
  • Lead effective governance for the portfolio of ESG initiatives, including the execution of corporate goals across functions, alignment of internal stakeholders, and management of external partnerships, vendors, and programs
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to formalize a joint, actionable plans to operationalize improved systems, processes, data management, and enterprise-level accountability related to ESG initiatives
  • Own employee communication and engagement strategies to foster a culture of sustainability and enhance talent attraction and retention
  • Partner with analysts and investors to improve engagement, develop proactive strategies, and enhance NetApp's ESG profile to attract new investors and strengthen relationships with ESG rating agencies
  • Drive transformation by integrating ESG into the rhythm of the business, from identifying executive ownership to driving accountability and measurement through ESG executive dashboards, shared at Business and Strategy reviews with the ESG Steering Committee and Board

Job Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in business operations in the technology sector; preferably experienced in program management and operationalizing ESG priorities
  • In-depth knowledge of ESG regulations, frameworks, and reporting standards, including international regulations like CSRD
  • Strong understanding of ESG risks, opportunities, and compliance requirements, with a track record of mitigating risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Experience in coordinating stakeholder workstreams, driving efficient reporting and disclosure processes, including sustainability reports and ESG performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, influencing internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong project and program management abilities, successfully managing complex initiatives, driving cross-functional collaboration, financial planning, and resource management
  • Proactive, results-oriented mindset, passionate about sustainability and driving positive change
  • Familiarity with ESG rating agencies, investor expectations, and industry best practices for ESG performance
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional executives, building exceptional executive-level presentations and decks
  • Ability to connect ESG observations and recommendations to executives, articulating business impact, risks, opportunities, and recommendations

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MSc) preferred

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is $207K - $291K. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
