Job Summary

The Enterprise Storage Business Unit (ESBU) Product Lifecycle Management Team (PLM) is responsible for launching and managing NetApp’s core ONTAP storage products. NetApp is looking for a Product Manager to join the PLM product management team and to take on product line responsibility, from launch through end-of life. This role reports to the Director of Product Management, and he/she will work closely with the ESBU product leadership team and other cross-functional teams to execute a compelling product strategy. This role requires that you have a demonstrated record in managing enterprise storage products, including GTM activities related to launching products, tracking, and managing both business and product outcomes through the product lifecycle.

In this role, the Product Manager will primarily be responsible for licensing and GTM programs that support the ONTAP portfolio of products. In addition, the product manager will support product lifecycle, including product launches, sales and partner enablement, through all operational aspects of managing a product through its lifecycle. The role is highly visible and requires regular reporting to the BU leadership team on GTM programs, including business success metrics, impacts of technology and market trends, customers, and competitors. You will also be expected to drive business strategy and program initiatives to scale ONTAP products in the market.

To be successful in this role, you will have the experience and the ability to manage and influence all key stakeholders, including Engineering, Sales, Sales Operations, Pricing, Finance, Supply Chain, Support, and Marketing. The role also requires the ability to engage customers and partners through EBCs, roadmap updates, customer and partner events, and other feedback avenues.

The ideal candidate will also possess a technical understanding of hardware and software systems, enterprise storage ecosystems and solutions, along with the business acumen to carry products successfully through their lifecycle in a holistic and structured way.

Job Requirements

  • Ownership of software licensing and GTM programs, managing all technical and business aspects to ensure successful adoption and growth in the market.
  • Provide support for licensing, GTM programs, and lifecycle across each product line manager.
  • Work with product line managers to propose technology and business strategies to compete effectively and grow market share.
  • Communicate externally with customers, partners, and sales team to drive adoption and gather feedback.
  • Track, manage, and report on success metrics associated with the GTM initiatives.
  • Develop a comprehensive 360-degree view of all factors affecting traction in the market.
  • Communicate program performance to senior leadership through regular business reporting.
  • Manage operational aspects, like pricing, quoting, forecasting, and end-of-life planning.
  • Work cross-functionally to build consensus with stakeholders within the PM team and across the organization.

Capabilities:

  • Ability and aptitude to develop solid understanding of NetApp’s product portfolio, market segments, value propositions.
  • Excellent communication, collateral creation, organization, leadership, and execution skills
  • Ability to consolidate information from a variety of resources, including (but not limited to) usage data, customer feedback, and market analysis, to create strategies for market growth.
  • Builds strong connections and works cohesively with internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • >5 years of prior experience of working in Enterprise Software or the IT infrastructure space in the following roles: Product Management, Customer Success Engineering, Solutions Engineering
  • Ability to work with and influence cross-functional stakeholders within the BU and Field organizations.
  • Self-motivated, process driven, biased toward action, capable of defining objectives and delivering workstreams from start to finish.

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $136,000 - $190,000 and will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
