Public Relations Representative

NetApp, the intelligent data infrastructure company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Public Relations Specialist to join its Global PR Team. This role will provide general PR support across various initiatives, assisting with planning, media outreach, and campaign execution. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of experience in public relations and a strong ability to manage day-to-day PR activities, ensuring seamless support across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Global Media and Public Relations, this role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the overall success of NetApp's Global PR efforts while gaining exposure to a variety of public relations initiatives within a leading global tech company.
The successful candidate will be a storyteller with the ability to develop trusted media relationships and meaningful storylines. They will be a skilled writer – capable of disseminating complex technical topics into concise narratives to deliver compelling press releases, media pitches, byline articles, speaking abstracts, award submissions and more – with a keen eye for what will drive results.
Job Requirements
- Assist in the development and execution of PR plans, including media outreach, event coordination, and communications strategies.
- Manage media relations by maintaining relationships with journalists, responding to inquiries, and pitching relevant stories.
- Draft and edit PR materials, such as press releases, media pitches, byline articles, FAQs, and briefing documents.
- Support company spokespeople during media engagements, including interview preparation, briefing materials, and follow-up activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Investor Relations, Product and Government Relations and others, to align messaging and strategy.
- Monitor media coverage and compile reports on PR activity, tracking key performance metrics and providing insights to improve strategy.
- Assist in coordinating media events, webinars, and press briefings.
- Support data driven KPI reporting using Meltwater and other measurement tools.
Education
- 3-5 years of experience in public relations, a background working in both agency and in-house communications roles is preferred
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, concise communications.
- Experience in managing media relations and securing media coverage.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in working across teams and collaborating on PR strategies.
- Proficiency in using PR monitoring tools and tracking key performance indicators.
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 64,170 - 90,200 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
