Director, Corporate Marketing

This individual will focus on sponsorship optimization and growth. They will be responsible for overseeing strategic sales alignment across our NetApp Global Brand Sponsorship portfolio. Act as an adviser across business strategy, global sales coordination and pipeline management across sports franchises and venues in each region (North America, EMEA, LATAM, APAC). This role will report directly into the Vice President, Global Brand Sponsorships and Experience.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to optimize sponsorship opportunities and NetApp growth. This includes identifying potential sponsorships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring alignment with the company's overall goals and coordinating directly with the regional sales teams on business back opportunities
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, partners, and stakeholders. This involves regular communication, addressing any issues, and ensuring that all parties are satisfied with the sponsorship arrangements.
Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of sponsorships to ensure they are meeting objectives. This includes tracking key metrics, evaluating the return on investment, and making data-driven decisions to improve future sponsorships
Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of professionals responsible for various aspects of sponsorship optimization and growth. This includes setting goals, providing guidance, and ensuring that the team is working effectively towards achieving their objectives
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, sales, and finance, to ensure that sponsorships are integrated into the company's overall strategy. This includes coordinating efforts, sharing information, and ensuring that all departments are aligned
Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to identify new opportunities for sponsorship optimization and growth. This includes attending industry events, networking with other professionals, and continuously seeking ways to improve the company's sponsorship strategy
Budget Management: Oversee the budget for sponsorships, ensuring that funds are allocated effectively and that all expenses are tracked and reported accurately
Compliance: Ensure that all sponsorship activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. This includes conducting regular audits, addressing any compliance issues, and ensuring that all sponsorships are conducted ethically and responsibly
Quarterly Business Review: Prepare quarterly business updates for VP
Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field is typically required. An advanced degree such as an MBA can be an added advantage.
Experience: A minimum of 12+ years of experience in sponsorship management, marketing, or business development. Experience in a leadership role is highly desirable.
Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the sponsorship landscape, including trends, best practices, and key players in the industry.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to evaluate sponsorship performance, measure ROI, and make data-driven decisions.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with sponsors, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage relationships with sponsors and partners.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills to lead a team of professionals and drive them towards achieving their goals.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to optimize sponsorship opportunities and drive growth.
Project Management: Strong project management skills to oversee multiple sponsorship initiatives and ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and identify new opportunities for sponsorship optimization and growth.
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 219,300 - 326,700 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
