Senior Business Intelligence Analyst - Enterprise Storage Strategy & Operations

The Enterprise Storage business is NetApp’s largest and highest-impact business unit - a multi-billion dollar portfolio spanning all-flash performance systems, capacity flash and hybrid platforms. This portfolio powers mission-critical workloads for the world’s largest enterprises and is now at the center of one of the most consequential trends in infrastructure: enterprise AI and next-generation neocloud architectures.
The Strategy & Operations (S&O) team sits at the center of this business, working closely with NetApp’s top executives. We ensure the Enterprise Storage organization is focusing on the right priorities and executing well on its top goals. The team plays an active role in NetApp’s core product strategy decisions, defining and driving greater operational rigor across the business to accelerate our pace of execution.
You will join a talented team that combines deep technical and analytical skills with the strategic toolkit to match - structured problem-solving, executive-ready communication, and the ability to operate at the intersection of data and business strategy. We focus on strategic planning, defining and driving execution toward key priorities, executive reviews, rhythm of business, resource management, operational excellence, and ensuring the success of critical cross-company initiatives.
Job Responsibility
- Build the data foundation
- Design and maintain custom data models in Snowflake tailored to Enterprise Storage product use cases
- Own data quality - identify gaps, reconcile discrepancies, and establish trusted datasets that leadership can rely on
- Deliver business intelligence with strategic context
- Deliver Executive Monthly Business Reviews for Enterprise Storage, presented to C-Staff
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards that give leadership real-time visibility into business performance - designed around the questions Product needs to answer
- Create custom metrics views tied to active strategic initiatives
- Apply analytics to strategy and operations problems
- Strategy: Frame and answer the big questions with a hypothesis-driven approach - market sizing, wallet share estimation, competitive benchmarking, industry vertical opportunity assessments
- Operations: Diagnose business performance, e.g., AOP attainment drivers, bookings linearity, pricing trends ($/GB), margin analysis
- Product portfolio: Inform investment and positioning decisions, e.g., product mix shifts, platform transitions, new product introduction
- Go beyond the numbers: Synthesize findings into clear, opinionated recommendations that leadership can make decisions and act on
- Operate as a Product partner
- Work day-to-day with Product Management, StratOps, Engineering, Finance, Pricing, etc. on the highest-impact opportunities/problems for Enterprise Storage org
- Contribute to Board-level strategy materials, C-Staff executive reviews, and lead Enterprise Storage leadership discussions
- Understand the strategy, industry trends, competitive landscape and business/product context to drive the proactive data/analytics roadmap, not just respond to requests
Job Requirements
- 5+ years in business intelligence, data analytics, strategy & operations or a related analytical role - ideally in a context where you owned both the data/analytics work and the product/business framing
- Strong technical skills – SQL, Dashboards (Power BI), Excel, Python, Statistics
- Data modeling – Extensive experience designing dimensional models, working with large datasets and validating data quality
- You use AI as a daily force multiplier - LLMs and coding assistants (e.g., VSCode + GitHub Copilot + Claude) to accelerate SQL development, rapidly prototype Python scripts for data manipulation, and iterate on analyses faster than traditional methods allow.
- Demonstrated experience building lightweight automations, internal tools, or analytical workflows using AI-assisted development (e.g., using VS Code + GitHub Copilot + Claude to build an agent, efficiently process unstructured emails, prototype a data model)
- Strategic and operational judgment - Ability to connect data to business/product context, frame the right questions, and deliver recommendations
- Executive communications - Ability to communicate findings to senior leaders, product managers, and engineers - adjusting depth and framing for the audience. Experience supporting executive reviews (VP+) - including translating complex analysis into a clear narratives, from initial hypothesis through structured storyline to actionable recommendation.
- Self-directed - Able to manage multiple workstreams across strategy, operations, and ad-hoc requests and proactively identify new opportunities/problems to be prioritized
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Information Systems) or equivalent professional experience
- Experience in enterprise IT infrastructure (storage in particular) or hardware product organizations
- Background in product management, product operations, strategy & operations functions or management consulting
- Scope & Impact: Work cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, Finance, Pricing, and StratOps to inform executive decisions across the full product lifecycle - strategy, development, new product introduction, fowth, and end‑of‑life - for a multi‑billion dollar product portfolio
- Exposure: Work directly with senior executives to inform and influence the most critical decisions facing the product and business
- Team: Join a high-caliber Strategy & Operations team that values analytical rigor, clear communication, and getting things done

Education
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 170,000 - 253,000 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. The range is based on 'On Target Earnings’ (OTE) representing the total potential earnings, which is the sum of the base salary and potential commission earned when performance targets are achieved. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s). These offerings are subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. We will provide detailed information about the specific benefits for your region during the recruitment process.
