Job Summary

Global Supply Management is a strategic and execution-focused organization responsible for enabling NetApp customer success through disciplined supply execution, inventory optimization, supplier management, and proactive risk mitigation. The Global Supply Manager leads end-to-end supply planning and inventory analysis across assigned product families, developing strategies that balance customer demand, inventory investment, supplier commitments, and operational risk. This role partners across Supply Planning, Procurement, Product Operations, Finance, Manufacturing Partners, and Logistics to drive supply continuity, inventory health, and business performance. 

Essential Functions:

• Leverage supply planning principles to create and communicate strategic supply plans aligned with demand forecasts, inventory targets, and key business objectives. 
• Manage supplier forecasts, commits, and supply availability across assigned commodities and product families; make adjustments with suppliers and internal stakeholders as conditions change. 
• Drive recovery plans for material shortages, supplier constraints, and factory execution risks, with clear actions, owners, and closure dates. 
• Analyze inventory health across contract manufacturers, hubs, distribution centers, and suppliers. 
• Monitor inventory turns, weeks of supply, excess and obsolete inventory, aged inventory, liability exposure, supply coverage, and buffer performance. 
• Identify opportunities to reduce excess inventory while maintaining customer-service and supply-continuity objectives. 
• Develop inventory strategies for new product introduction, sustaining products, and end-of-life transitions. 
• Partner with Finance to improve inventory accuracy, liability management, and working-capital efficiency. 
• Perform consumption analysis and recommend actions to improve inventory utilization and alignment between supply and demand. 
• Use systems and analytics tools to manage supply, communicate issues, model scenarios, and improve decision-making efficiency. 
• Build executive-level dashboards and reports that provide clear visibility to supply performance, inventory health, risks, and opportunities. 
• Work with contract manufacturers, EMS partners, sub-tier suppliers, and internal stakeholders to close supply gaps and improve factory readiness. 
• Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve planning effectiveness, inventory performance, process standardization, and reporting automation. 
• Communicate risks and issues that may affect business objectives and recommend practical mitigation options. 
• Ensure projects adhere to company processes and initiate continuous improvements when needed.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex analysis into concise executive-level recommendations.

• Advanced knowledge of inventory management, supply planning, forecasting, production scheduling, and supplier management. 
• Ability to conduct scenario modeling, trend analysis, root-cause analysis, and data-driven risk assessment. 
• Project and program management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise planning systems; experience with SAP/Oracle, SAP IBP, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or comparable analytics tools is preferred. 
• Understanding of ERP/MRP and shop-floor control systems. 
• Experience with contract manufacturers, EMS partners, OEMs, or sub-tier suppliers in a global supply-chain environment. 
• Ability to establish operating cadence, governance routines, escalation paths, and execution metrics. 
• Strong continuous-improvement orientation and a proven record of delivering measurable business results.

Education

Education & Experience

• Minimum of 8-12 years of supply chain, supply planning, inventory management, supplier management, factory execution, or contract manufacturing experience. 
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. 
• Demonstrated experience managing complex global supply chains and multiple cross-functional projects. 
• APICS/ASCM certification is preferred. 
• Demonstrated success improving inventory performance, supply continuity, forecast or supply-plan accuracy, and operational execution. 
• Customer delivery and order-fulfillment performance
